Flamingoes and Birdlife
in Lake Nakuru: Both lesser and
the greater flamingo occur abundantly as
non-breeding visitors. More than 450
species of birds has been recorded in
the park. White pelicans can observed in

The number of animals to be encountered in Lake Nakuru
National Park is huge as the park is small and
game density and variety are high. Indigenous mammals seen
in the park include the hippopotamus, spotted hyena, lion, leopard, rock
hyrax, bat-eared fox, wildcat, golden cat, Bohor reedbuck,
Defassa waterbuck,Colobus monkey, Rotschild's giraffe, black and white
rhinoceros
The Baboon cliff:
The Baboon cliff and its lookout point
offer finest view across the lake and
over the shimmering fringe of pink
around the lake's white shores.
Wildlife in the
Mara Triangle: The Masai Mara
National Reserve possesses a great
variety of mammals. Large beasts such as
lion, buffalo, elephant, hippopotamus,
leopard, giraffe and black rhinoceros. Birdlife in the
park is also abundant as more than 53
different species have been recorded.
Zebra and Wildebeest Migration:
The world's largest migration of
wildebeest and zebra takes place every
year between June and September between
the Serengeti in Tanzania and Masai Mara
in Kenya.
Balloon Safari/Night Safari:
Balloon safaris in the Masai Mara are
done very early in the morning and most
of the time accompanied by a
bush-breakfast with champagne. |
